The Association is the only recognized Governing Body for the sport of gymnastics within the UK. Under the overall description of gymnastics lie the individual disciplines and activities of:
Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Sports Acrobatics, Sports Aerobics, General Gymnastics, Disabilities and Trampolining and Tumbling

· Represents gymnastics in all its forms and affirms its
presence and role in the international sports movement.
· Coordinates efforts for healthy physical and moral development in society.
· Supports and coordinates the requirements of the member federations in promoting and developing gymnastics on all levels.
· Contributes to strengthening friendship and fair-play among all gymnasts and sportsmen and sportswomen of all levels.
· Furthers ethical principles.
· Informs, prevents and sanctions against doping.
· Instructs, controls and sanctions all dishonest persons (judges, coaches, authorized Members of affiliated federations, etc).
· Is responsible for coordination with other international organizations and the promotion of the Olympic Spirit.

The European Union of Gymnastics (UEG)
A modern sports organization with a future
The UEG counts 46 national member federations. It is a sports organization which reaches far beyond the borders of political Europe but bears nevertheless the idea of a united gymnastics nation.As guarantor of interests, the UEG represents quite different facets of European gymnastics: from Olympic sports to general gymnastics. European gymnasts transmit their understanding of being together beyond the borders and set an example in community.
No other sports federation in Europe proposes such a diversity of offers as the European Union of Gymnastics. One can find not only high-level sport and general gymnastics, but also leisure sport with offers for all age groups, from toddlers to senior citizens.
In no other discipline are not only organized attractive international events, but also galas, general gymnastics festivals, youth festivals and gymnaestradas, where hundreds of thousands of athletes come together.
